I don’t know about you.. but sometimes it’s nice to get out of your comfort zone and try something new.. so it’s time to explore red wine beyond the classics.

In this Masterclass Matt aims to challenge your expectations and move beyond the familiar varieties that you might usually reach for when choosing a wine to enjoy. From elegant and aromatic to bold, robust and complex, there’s so much out there still to discover.

As the climate changes, the winemaking styles are changing too and it’s exciting to see what the future holds in the world of wine. More and more you will see your favourite red varieties blended with varieties that you’ve never heard of.. well after this Masterclass you will be in the know.. knowledge is wisdom n all that..

Ofcourse there will be Fromage & Charcuterie share platters as always.. but this time we might just show you some new alternative cheeses and meats that you might fall in love with too..

What can we say about Burgundy.. I mean it only produces the greatest Chardonnay & Pinot Noir in the world.. no contest.

Burgundy produces a diverse range of wine styles.. despite working with just two principal grapes.. Chardonnay & Pinot Noir. For centuries Burgundy has captivated wine lovers with its ability to translate the terroir of its vineyards directly into the glass in your hand.

Matt will show you three Chardonnay, three Pinot Noir, and one other little gem.. all paired with French Fromage & Charcuterie share platters in the cosy confines of our cellar bar, La Cave.

Christmas is just around the corner, and that means it’s Bubbles season!! 🥂

Probably the greatest beverage ever created… what’s not to love about Champagne really?!

Matt will show you 7 bubbles from around the globe, including 3 Champagnes, and run through the different processes of how to make sparkling wines.

Ofcourse there will be Fromage & Charcuterie from those same sparkling wine regions too.

There’s few people in this country more passionate about Rosé than Matt…. except maybe Felix!!

A few years ago when Matt first started his quest to understand all things Rosé he met Felix, an equally passionate Rosé aficionado that was shipping some of Frances finest pink to our shores.. naturally a Bromance ensued!!

When it comes to Rosé, if Felix & Matt don’t know it, then it’s not worth knowing!

Taste 7 of Frances finest Rosé paired with French Fromage & Charcuterie.. Let’s get all nerd about Rosé!

An evening with Charles Fourny

Matt has know Charles Fourny for nearly 20 years now, and one of the first events we ever did at The Old Seven was with Charles in 2019 shortly after we had just opened our cellar bar, La Cave.

It’s been 7 years since that event and Charles is coming back to do it all again.. this time in our Parisian inspired room, Le Salon.

Hailing from Vertus in the Cote de Blanc subregion of Champagne, Veuve Fourny produce some of the finest Chardonnay dominant Champagnes you will ever try.. and we are beyond excited to show them to you.

7 years.. so it seems fitting that Charles will be pouring 7 of his stunning Champagnes and ofcourse paired with some of our French Fromage & Charcuterie share platters.. 2 long tables.. 48 seats.. one night only!!
