Portugal vs Spain : A Red Wine Showdown

Sunday 23rd August 1pm - $85

It’s no secret that we’re a little bit obsessed with these two “Powerhouses of Red Wine”.. The saviours of wine as we know it!

There’s something special about the styles of reds produced in this part of the world and the wine world is watching.. rustic, enticing, interesting and different.. we just love these thought provoking styles.

Grenache from Priorat, Tempranillo from Rioja.. pitched against Portuguese Douro Valley Touriga Nacional and Dao Tinta Roriz.. not the most well known regions and styles in our part of the world.. but trust me, they are next level delicious!

Matt has travelled through Spain and Portugal’s wine regions fairly extensively and has a real passion for the wines and styles that this part of the world offers.. and he has a few incredible wines tucked up his sleeve just for this event.

Fromage & Charcuterie share platters in the cosy confines of La Cave too just to top things off. You don’t want to miss this one if you love Red Wine.. we’re excited!!

French Rosé

Sunday 30th August 1pm - $85

French Rosé is kinda our thing you might say.. and with the largest Rosé wine list in Australia, we mean business!

The French hands down make the best Rosé in the world and we just love this pink tipple at The Old Seven.

Contrary to popular belief, Rosé is not all the same.. in fact it is probably more diverse than most other wine styles and we aim to show that.

7 French Rosés paired with French Fromage & Charcuterie in the cosy confines of our cellar bar, La Cave.

This is the OG of our Wine Masterclasses, the very first one we ever did, and one of our most popular.

Champagne - Perfection in a glass

Sunday 13th September 1pm - $140

It’s Springtime.. what better time is there to learn a little bit about the greatest beverage the world has ever created.. Champagne!!

Sparkling wine is produced in many countries and regions, but there’s something particularly special about the Champagne region and the wines it produces.

Matt will show you 7 Champagnes, and talk through the different processes of how Champagne is produced and what makes it stand tall above all other sparkling wines. Ofcourse there will be French Fromage & Charcuterie on offer too.

We’ve run a couple of these Champagne Masterclasses and they were a hit, so get in quick.

International Grenache Day

Sunday 20th September 1pm - $85

Grenache, Garnatxa, Garnacha, Cannonau, whatever you choose to call it, it makes a bloody delicious wine.. and it’s International Grenache Day, so let’s celebrate!

Grenache is one of the most widely planted grape varieties around the globe with over 200,000ha under vine. It vary’s in style from region to region, from Provence to Priorat, McLaren Vale to Rhone Valley, Grenache is one beautifully versatile grape.

We will show you 7 different Grenache with Grenache Guru and winemaker Tim Geddes joining us on the day to help show why this variety is so special..

Fromage & Charcuterie share platters from those same regions too.. all in the cosy confines of La Cave.. what’s not to love.

Note : Technically International Grenache Day is on Friday 18th.. but close enough is good enough, eh?!

Piedmont vs Tuscany

Sunday 2nd August 1pm - SOLD OUT

The two big guns of Italian red wine production.. Piedmont and Tuscany!

Both regions specialise in very different varieties and styles, but both at the peak of their game.. Tuscan Sangiovese.. Chianti & Montalcino.. vs Piedmont Nebbiolo.. Barolo & Barbaresco.. it’s a big game really.. I’m not sure how we are going to do this for $90 a head.. but we are!

Matt has travelled Piedmont and Tuscany quite extensively, and he’s going to pull out some big guns for this event.

7 red wines, paired with Italian Fromage & Charcuterie.
