Often overshadowed by their red wine counterparts, but there are some incredible white wines produced throughout Europe.
German & Alsacian Riesling, Burgundy Chardonnay, Sicilian skin contact, Campania Fiano, Rias Baixas Albariño, Loire Valley Chenin Blanc.. the list goes on.. The hardest part will be what varieties/regions Matt will choose.
In the end he will whittle it down to just 7 of his favourite European whites, all paired with Fromage & Charcuterie from those same regions.

Probably one of our favourite Masterclasses to date.. it’s time to drink some Barolo folks!!
We’re going to delve deep into what makes the region of Piedmont so special, and why it produces some of the greatest red wines in the world.. I mean Barolo really needs no introduction.. neither should Barbaresco!!
If you know, you know.. if you don’t know, then let Matt show you why this is one of the greatest wine regions in the world.
We’ll try 7 red wines from Piedmont, including 2 x Barolo’s and 2 x Barbaresco’s, all paired with Fromage & Charcuterie from Northern Italy.

We had planned this Masterclass at the start of March, but Cyclone Alfred threw a little spanner in the works then.. so we’re having another crack at it!
Everyone has heard of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Pinot Noir and… God Forbid… Merlot 🙄… but how about Nero d’Avola, Nerello Mascalese or Touriga Nacional?
In this Masterclass, we will look at some of the more obscure alternative varieties that are starting to shape the future of red wine around the world.
7 red wines from 7 different regions of Europe paired with Fromage & Charcuterie from those same European countries.
Fingers crossed there’s no interruption from Mother Nature this time around!

I can’t believe it.. 100 Masterclasses in La Cave!!
We had our first Wine and Cheese Masterclass in August of 2019, nearly 6 years ago now.. how time fly’s.
To celebrate this, we’re going to do something a bit special.
Matt is going to pick his 7 favourite wine regions and show his favourite wine from each of those regions (I know right!!)
.. and to top that off.. Nellie is also going to pick her favourite Fromage & Charcuterie to show off too!
There will be 7 wines in total.. 1 Rosé, 2 Whites, and 4 Reds.. “Probably” Something like that. Time will tell..
One thing is for sure.. this is going to be one delicious event!

France vs Italy : A Red Wine Showdown

As the weather cools down, it’s perfect timing for our annual France vs Italy Masterclass.
The first year we did this, Italy got one over France. The second year France came out on top. The third, and it was back in Italy’s corner. Can Italy make it out on top again this year, or will the French make it two a piece??
Matt has travelled most of the wine regions of both France and Italy, so you know he’s going to pull out some of his favourites for this round.. and maybe give a little edge to France to even the score.. anyone remember the 2006 FIFA World Cup?
